Dr. Joseph W. Aschenbrenner
received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1985 from
the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Aschenbrenner
is an Adjunct Faculty member of the Illinois College
of Optometry, a member of both the American and the
Illinois Optometric Associations and is a member of
the Volunteer Optometric Service for Humanity
Organization. In 1990 he established his practice in
Barrington and was later presented with the
Independent Optometrist of the Year award by
EYE-GRAD and Company in 1991. He was also the
recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens
Outstanding Achievement award and the Syntax Contact
Lens award. Coupled with his specialty in contact
lenses, Dr. Aschenbrenner enjoys the challenge of
designing lenses for patients with unique and
complex prescriptions. In addition to contact
lenses, he also specialized in laser refractive
care, low vision care, pre and post operative
surgical care, and treatment of ocular disease. |

Dr. Aschenbrenner is dedicated to providing
his patients with personal vision care in the stat-of-the-art
facility that he designed in 2003, and he continues to provide
the best possible care for his patients by keeping current with
the technological advancements within the profession.
Additionally, Dr. Aschenbrenner volunteers his time by providing
exams and glasses to patients associated with the Barrington
Lions Club and also, as a longtime member of VOSH (Volunteer
Optometric Service for Humanity), he provides eye care and
glasses to the poor both locally and internationally. |

~Timothy M. Beyer, O.D. |

Dr. Timothy Beyer joined the
Barrington Eye Care team in 2007 after graduating
summa cum laude from the Illinois College of
Optometry. Prior to optometry school, he received a
Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry cum laude from
the University of Illinois in Urbana- Champaigne.
Dr. Beyer grew up in Algonquin and is a graduate of
Jacobs High School. He first became interested in
optometry through observing Dr. Aschenbrenner. As a
member of the American Academy of Optometry, the
Illinois Optometric Association, and the American
Optometric Association, he is active within the
optometric community.
Before joining the Barrington Eye Care team, Dr.
Beyer completed clinical rotations at Midwest Eye
Professionals, Chicago Cornea Consultants, the
Chicago Lighthouse for People who are Blind or
Visually Impaired, the Illinois Eye Institute, and
Sidney Hillman Health Center. |

Each rotation focused on different specialties including
the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, pre and post
operative care for cataract and laser refractive procedures,
specialty contact lenses, low vision, and pediatrics.
Dr. Beyer has particular interests in the diagnosis and
treatment of glaucoma, keratoconus, and pediatrics. |

~Kevin J. Kovach, M.D. |

Dr. Kovach received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with honors form
the
University of Illinois. He graduated Doctor of Medicine cum laude from the
University of
Illinois. He continued his transitional residency work at MacNeal Hospital and
completed his
residency at Loyola UMC. He is a certified eye surgeon of the American Board of
Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American
Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of
Refractive
Surgeons. He is currently on staff at Elmhurst Hospital, Oak Park Hospital and Elmhurst
Outpatient
Surgery Center. Dr. Kovach has been performing laser procedures with The Laser
Network since it was first opened. He believes that a strong network of
optometrist and
ophthalmologists.
